Situated on a gentle south-facing slope, the new elderly care home in Falzes begins as a linear structure that bends and meanders, shaping an entrance square and two rectangular wings overlooking the valley where the residents’ rooms are located.

Each room offers a private, south-facing window that frames the alpine landscape and includes an operable opening for fresh air, inviting residents to sit, gaze outside, and connect with the changing weather. Fixed, deep wooden sunshades protect the interiors from excessive heat while preserving the view.

Inside, the floor plan echoes the building’s sinuous form. The monotony of the corridor is broken by shared spaces for reading and sitting, bathed in soft northern light. Each floor concludes with an open, south-facing loggia as sheltered spot where residents can gather, enjoy the breeze, and spend time together as the days pass.
