Continuous space

The context is the mainland of the Metropolitan City of Venice, where the urban fabric gradually dissolves into the countryside. The development of the past sixty years has produced a complex urban landscape characterized by a strong mix of uses, where historic buildings stand nearby industrial structures.

The apartment occupies the top floor of an existing building developed over three levels, on a lot situated between factories and large parking areas. Its elevated position offers multiple views that contrast the built environment with the surrounding countryside.

The internal layout was completely redesigned, preserving the structural elements while demolishing all interior partitions. New openings in the central spine create continuity throughout the living area, while the bedrooms were rethought through a new sequence of rooms and service spaces.

The continuity and identity of the spaces are expressed through the study of natural light, the selection of materials, and the attention to detailed design.
